Yeon Sang-ho’s new film “Colony” has been officially invited to the Midnight Screening section of the Cannes Film Festival.

The film depicts survivors trapped in a quarantined building fighting against evolving infected beings.

The cast includes Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, and Ji Chang-wook.

This marks Yeon’s third invitation to Cannes, reaffirming his strength in genre filmmaking.

The 79th Cannes Film Festival opens on May 12, with Park Chan-wook serving as jury president.
