Group New Jeans will be the first K-pop girl group to be on the stage of the U.S. Billboard Music Awards (BBMA).

The BBMA announced on its official website on the 8th (local time) that New Jeans has been selected as a performer for this year's award ceremony.

New Jeans will meet with fans with "Super Shy" and "OMG" at the concert.

New Jeans was selected as a BBMA performer in a year and three months, the first K-pop girl group and the shortest period since its debut as a K-pop group for both men and women.

BTS is the only K-pop group that has performed at BBMA, which is considered one of the top three popular music awards in the U.S. along with the "American Music Awards" and "Grammy Awards."

New Jeans became the most nominated K-pop artist at this year's BBMA, nominated in four categories: "Top Billboard Global (excluding the U.S.) Artist," "Top Global K-pop Artist," "Top Global K-pop Song," and "Top K-pop Album." In particular, two songs were nominated in the "Top Global K-Pop Song" category, "Top Global K-Pop Song."

This year's award show performances and winners will be announced online only. You can watch it on Billboard's official website and social network service on the 19th.
